Congratulations goes to Kitty Wickham who won the "last man standing" and pockets the 200euro first prize.
Raheen continued their march to the top of the table with a 4-1 away win in Wexford Celtic. Eamon Lawlor started the ball rolling with a fine strike from the edge of the box which beat the keeper at his near post. Raheen were lucky to be one up at the break after Celtic squandered a couple of good chances.
The second half was more comfortable with Nigel Higgins scoring from a rebound and Shane Whelan hitting the net after good work by Stephen Doyle to make the result safe. Kevin McGrath blasted home a fourth from close range before Celtic converted a consolation penalty near the final whistle.
With only two league games left, both at home, one more victory will secure promotion. Next week All blacks are the opposition at 11.

Raheen travelled away again in the Wexford Cup, this time to premier division New Ross Celtic in round 4. The home team settled early and took the lead half way through the first half when a free kick was nodded to the net. Raheen played some good passing soccer for the remainder of the half and were unlucky not to have scored before the break. The equaliser eventually came from the unlikely Enda Wickham who came up from the defence to finish a Dylan Whitty corner kick for his first goal for the club.
A shock was on the cards as Raheen continued forward creating some good chances and had a great penalty shout turned down.Unfortunately they were hit on the break by a Celtic winger with a great finish from long range. Raheen could only be proud of their efforts and the performance should keep spirits high with only 3 league games left. The only serious down side to the day was a few injury concerns.
Next week Raheen have their last away fixture of the year to Wexford Celtic at 11.

Raheen keep the pressure on other title contenders with two league wins in as many weeks. Raheen travelled to Rosslare last week and had a convincing 4-0 win. David McEvoy scored 2, Mervyn Moloney and Padraig Whitty were also on the score sheet.
Raheen defeated table toppers Caim this week on a one nil scoreline, Nigel Higgins with the all important goal in the first half. Raheen had chances to double their lead but in the end had to withstand a lot of Caim pressure to come away with the three points. This result leaves Raheen in a great position to challenge for the title with four games to go.

This week Raheen had their first competitive game, after the festive break, away to high flying Rosbercon in the Wexford cup. Raheen got off to the best possible start when striker Stephen Doyle scored with the first shot on the home goal. Rosbercon became more dominant as the game continued but Raheen's outstanding defence held strong until the home pressure was eventually rewarded with a few minutes remaining in the second half to force extra time.
Raheen played much better in the two periods of extra time. A penalty shoot-out looked most likely with both teams failing to take any of their chances until Mervyn Moloney headed a corner to the net in the dying minutes.
Next week Raheen travel to Rathnure in a "top of the table clash" at 11.30
